Our goal at Sandyland Farm Boer Goats is to raise the most correct show wethers and
replacement does.
We are Wayne and Julia Moore from Sandyland Farm, located In Felton, Delaware. Our
farming experience goes back 5 generations to the time when Wayne's great grandparents
were running a dairy farm, which remained in the family well into his adulthood. Then in
1990 we started raising beef cattle and in 1992 our oldest daughter started showing feeder
beef steers. The next year she completed the 4-H project by showing the finished steer
while our youngest daughter started showing feeders. Our family continued this tradition for
13 years, earning a reputation for consistently strong winnings resulting from our
well-founded breeding program.
In 2000 our youngest daughter decided that she wanted to add a goat to our show string.
So we bought her 3 young does that were shown in market goat classes. All 3 does were
kept for breeding purposes, and the whole family fell in love with raising these goats and
their offspring. In 2002, we started our own breeding program with the purchase of a buck
from the bloodlines of DSM, and expanded to add more 100% does to our already growing
crossbred herd.
